Every terminating or repeating decimal is a fraction. This tool uses continued fractions to find the simplest exact (or nearest) numerator and denominator.
Formula Used
Decimal → fraction: continued-fraction approximation, then simplify by gcd. Fraction → decimal: numerator ÷ denominator.
Example Calculation
0.625 = 5/8 exactly; 5/8 = 0.625 = 62.5%.
