How It Works

A common hydration guideline scales with body weight, then adds extra fluid to replace sweat lost during exercise. Climate, pregnancy, and health conditions also change needs.

Formula Used

Water (L) ≈ weight (kg) × 0.033 + (exercise minutes ÷ 30) × 0.35.

Example Calculation

At 70 kg with 30 minutes of daily exercise, the estimate is about 2.7 liters per day.

Practical Use Cases

  • Set a daily hydration goal.
  • Adjust intake on training days.
  • Build a drinking schedule around glasses or bottles.
